The Red in the Grind is Ours

How fucking awesome is this? Violinist Joey Molinaro of Indiana band Basilica has set large chunks of The Inalienable Dreamless ("Sound Out the Braille" through "Loveless") to violin, complete with foot percussion. The mutation makes the songs almost unrecognizable but flashes of the original do come through on occasion, making for a fascinating listen. I'm floored hearing an album I know so well interpreted so differently. Kick back and enjoy.

Big h/t to Mitchell Maruta for the find.

Brilliant love it! I actually love classical music also, not as much as grind though.
Btw I am not sure if it is just me (checking, yes I am sober), but at the top of your post is a little window of your blog?

I like this a lot. Kinda sounds like a score to some fucked up flick where the plot definitely involves some type of psychosis.

Interestingly interpreted! Definitely beats Carcass on piano

That's excellent. A grind-paced technical violin project would be wonderful, especially with some alternative percussion added, like steel drums or timpanis.

Fucking awesome. At first, I was attempting to make out the DxAx, and when I did, it reminded me of Yasunori Mitsuda Chrono Cross OST.
